Dr. Rajesh N. Maniar

Specialized Training in Joint Replacement Surgeries

Dr. Rajesh N. Maniar has been exclusively practicing joint replacement surgeries for the past 30 years. In 1995 after returning from the U.S. & U.K., armed with the skills of Joint Replacement Surgery and a total of 18 years medical training, he introduced himself as a Joint Replacement Surgeon, the first such designated specialist in the city. To his credit, he has personally done more than 8000 joint replacement surgeries. Today, he is known globally for his specialized work and he is referred to, to handle most complicated joint problems from all over India and abroad. His work is known for its quality, patient care and results.
Dr. Maniar has kept up with technological advances in his field; at each stage he has adopted the right technology. He has been one of the pioneers in India in the use of mobile bearing knee implants, Computer Navigation, re-do surgery and Robotic surgery. He shares his skills in training surgeons not only from India but also from Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Dr. Maniar is actively involved in various research projects, including 45 international publications and authored several Chapters in renowned books. He was the recipient of the Norman Roberts Medal at the M Ch Orth examination in U.K. Two of his innovative surgical techniques in knee replacement have been included in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons- AAOS and shown at their Annual Meeting in the years 2003, 2020. One surgical technique won an award and was shown again to delegates in the recent AAOS meeting in San Diego. He is sought after for live surgical demonstrations all over India and abroad.
Dr. Maniar is a founder member, trustee and a past president of Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeon , a founder member, helping establish the International Knee Society and is also an International member of the prestigious American Knee Society.

Knee Specialist - Joint Replacement and Preservation Surgeon

Dr Adit Maniar is an Orthopaedic surgeon who has pursued his passion for the knee joint, both its preservation and replacement. After 6 years of MBBS training, he has undergone 3 years of Orthopaedic training and thereafter 5 years of specialized Knee joint training. Being an avid sportsperson, his primary focus is to help patients achieve their aims, allowing them to reach the activity levels they desire. His special expertise is in treating ligament injuries, patello-femoral instability, meniscus and cartilage injuries, alignment issues and deformities, and knee arthritis and knee replacement surgery.
He strongly believes in personalized management for each patient. Personalized management is based on patient expectation, patient symptoms, patient activity levels and patient anatomy and not on surgeon comfort / training. As a comprehensive knee surgeon well versed with all the techniques and options, he has the unique ability to decide the best and most appropriate personalized management for each knee.
